The year 2023 has brought us interesting new products, beloved new clients and fascinating projects. Now that the year is drawing to a close, our Durban office is preparing its move to a splendid new facility.

As we come to terms with the reality of a new year, it’s important to reflect on the progress we made last year. Obscape achieved a significant sales increase, a testament to the strong support from our customers and our alignment with the evolving needs in environmental monitoring. This growth enabled us to expand our team in both manufacturing and administration, enhancing our expertise and capacity.

A pivotal aspect of our progress was the transition to a new, larger factory. This move, driven by the need for increased production capacity and advanced research facilities, has set the stage for more efficient production processes and an ability to meet the escalating demand for our systems.

This year, our primary focus is on continual enhancement of our technical capabilities and operational efficiency. These improvements are critical for meeting customer expectations in terms of product quality and delivery lead times.

We are also gearing up to tap into new market opportunities, particularly in the marine monitoring sector. The products we are developing are aimed at addressing unmet needs in this field, and we anticipate sharing more details later in the year.

NEW FACTORY!

Obscape are proud to introduce their newest addition to the PTM product line: the GPS Tracker.

Obscape have invested in a brand new production facility in uMhlanga South Africa. The wheels of production have started turning and we are ready to go!

The move has resulted in a serious upgrade of our production line and an expansion of our production team. With better production facilities and more manpower, Obscape will continue its ongoing growth trajectory, resulting in shorter lead times and the capacity to invest more manhours for product enhancement and new developments.

In addition, production line efficiency will be increased with new protocols to further improve an already high quality product offering, whilst minimising rework and enable a bigger stock holding capacity.

This means our customers can expect the same high level of quality with the added capability for fulfilment of large orders with shorter lead times to meet demanding project deadlines.
